Giving Your Business a Dose of Passion

Need one?

One of the primary ingredients for starting a business is to have a strong passion for whatever the business is about. When a business is in the beginning stages, everything is exciting. Unfortunately, most businesses reach a point in which the excitement and passion wears off after a while. Have you experienced this with your business?

Luckily, there are ways to revive that passion and excitement, as discussed in the above video. The first method involves being accountable. Every business that is successful comes with its fair share of responsibility and accountability.

If a business owner is accountable, he will have a significant role in all the operations of the business. As a result, he will continually strive to promote passion in order to keep the business going strong.

A second way to restore passion is by sharpening your skills. As the business owner becomes accountable, he will also be aware of ways to enhance the business. Take this one step further and look at what the competition is doing that you are not. Use this information to discover new ideas, and these new ideas will also generate passion.

Becoming an expert is a third way to restore passion. If a business owner engulfs himself in his industry, he will be surrounded by his passion. To do this, he can involve himself by writing articles for industry publications, attending and speaking at industry-related conferences, and advocating industry causes.

The good news is that if a business is able to re-discover his passion, it will likely extend throughout the business and even reflect on the employees.

Are you trying to find your business's passion?

Apply This Daily!

Great post from Abby once again!  It is good to apply this daily in your business life, but especially if the Holiday Blues took you down and things were not what you expected.  I would add a couple of things:

  1. Accountability - Ask yourself: are you doing what you need to daily to promote your business?  Are you there to manage all aspects of your business?
  2. Sharpen Your Skills - Always educate yourself, not only about your competitors, but learn new things.  Take an online course on Marketing, or Social Media.  Enhance your skills and apply them.
  3. Become An Expert -  Use Blogs, Enewsletters, Twitter and other Social Media Tools to make post about subjects in your industry.  Use these tools to provide useful information to people which brings them back to you as the Expert in your field.

Nice article and video Abby!

Business a Dose of Passion

Passion in business is nothing more than loving what you do. Passion can be self-consuming and distracting if left unchecked though, thus the key lies in learning how to harness and direct it in a focused manner to deliver positive results.
