More Options Arise for Selling Goods Through Facebook

One Already Has Over a Thousand Stores Using It

Facebook is becoming much more than just a social network. It has already become an important business tool for lots of small businesses, and not just in the marketing capacity. Businesses are increasingly selling their products from Facebook, and why not? Your most loyal fans are there, they follow your updates, and you can list your products right there.

Yesterday, Ali posted an article about the latest e-commerce solution for Facebook - BigCommerce's SocialShop. Using this is as easy as having an account with the company, setting up a Facebook page, adding a shop tab, and listing your products. On top of that, each product listing comes with a share button that lets fans easily share products with their own friends, and essentially allows your product listings to go viral.

Another kid on the Facebook e-commerce block tell us that it has reached the 1,000 Facebook store milestone. That would be comparison shopping engine Sortprice's Facebook app.

"We've heard repeatedly from our merchants how valuable a resource this application is in expanding their reach to Facebook's huge audience," said Doron Simovitch, SortPrice.com co-founder and CEO. "We're thrilled to have hit 1,000-store milestone in a little over a year. It indicates just how serious retailers are about expanding their e-commerce efforts to the world of social media."

There are multiple options out there to sell goods through Facebook, and there will likely be an increasing number of them. If you're still trying to figure out how social media can help your business, this is a pretty clear-cut way.

Using Facebook to get more

Using Facebook to get more traffic & to spread your brand is a good idea, since they have the 2nd most traffic behind Google.

Selling Goods on Facebook

The first step in the transition from viewing social media as a networking site was the trading of virtual goods via Facebook Credits, taxed by the company at 30 percent. Facebook and app developers created items available for purchase and consumption within the site itself, fueling such popular (but time-wasting) apps as Farmville.
