Learn the power of telling a storyTake just a moment and think about brands that use stories. For instance, we can all probably recall the stories that brands such as Folgers and Smucker's use. The stories just seem to stick with us, don't they?
As pointed out in the above video, stories are a powerful way to market your brand. For starters, stories are memorable, which therefore make your brand and business memorable. Secondly, stories are a way of selling your brand without coming across as too pitchy.
A third benefit is that stories provide credibility for your business since they are believable. Fourthly, stories allow a business to detail what the logo tries to depict. Lastly, stories are recyclable. They can be used in a variety of ways and formats.
Despite all these benefits to stories, marketers seem to be slow about reviving this old form of marketing. According to Dana Todd of Newsforce, many marketers are so focused on performance-based marketing and search marketing that they often neglect the creative side of it. In addition, storyteller marketing takes a long-term commitment and in some cases, marketers are too accustomed to going from click-to-click and campaign-to-campaign.
In the end, storyteller marketing is a valuable way to connect with customers but is, unfortunately, underutilized by marketers. Many marketers use the excuse that they don't have a story to tell. However, just as any marketing expert would say, everyone has a story.
A business could start looking for their story in their own customers. By listening to what they say and by digging into the customer experience, the business has a great chance of finding a compelling story. Once found, the story can be developed and built upon.

Story Marketing
I am surprised that so few people do not make the most of the opportunity to sell their story. From childhood, we all have loved stories. Stories help us understand the world and how it works. My own company has a great story. We were born in the voluntary sector and through reputation and branding, charities and voluntary orgabnisations come to us and we do a great deal of pro bono work for household name charities. We live our dream and we remain true to our story and it keeps our name and brand in the public eye. Rgds Vince

Every Business Has A Story
In my view, every business has a story to tell that can be done in a way that makes for impactful and memorable marketing. It could be the story of how the business came to be, what solutions the company is providing that are better or different than others, or simply how the business developed to be unique in its market and what makes it special. Story telling is what makes for great and memorable speaches, movies, television, and books, so why not businesses. Stories help us connect with others and understand each other better. It is perhaps the oldest and most natural way to communicate with others.
