The manner in which the UK election mess is resolving itself has earned the preliminary approval of two small business organizations.  The Federation of Small Businesses and Forum of Private Business have both greeted and congratulated the new coalition government.

The FSB was pleased about this turn of events for several reasons.  A statement issued by the group explained, "[T]he FSB welcomes the reversal of the one per cent increase in employers National Insurance Contributions (NICs), and is pleased that Capital Gains Tax proposals for businesses will not be changed, thus encouraging serial entrepreneurship."

Moreover, "The adoption of the Liberal Democrat policy to raise the personal tax allowance to 10,000 as a long-term goal is also welcomed," and "the Federation is pleased to see that the coalition is discussing the possibility of a national loan guarantee scheme to get more credit flowing to smaller businesses."

The FPB, for its part, was more focused on the stability this breakthrough should generate.  It expressed a wish that everyone will be able to work together and get the economy fully back on its feet, too.
