Small business owners in the UK might do well to be more vocal about their thoughts on taxes before the emergency Budget comes into effect, judging from the latest Forum of Private Business statement.  The FPB said there's a concern small businesses will miss out on tax breaks, or even be hit with tax increases.

On that first subject, the FPB explained, "Despite a mooted cut in the higher rate of corporation tax there has been no indication of a reduction in the lower rate paid by small firms."

As for the second issue, the FPB conducted its regular Economy Watch survey and reported afterward, "With the 'emergency' Budget less than two weeks away, rising costs and fears over potentially damaging tax hikes are denting the confidence of small businesses."

Obviously, none of this is great news.  So again, small business owners should make sure their voices are heard before anything's implemented, given that there's a slight possibility of changing the outcome.

If something less than desirable occurs, there's at least a chance it'll just be a temporary measure, though, since getting the deficit under control is supposed to be the main goal here.
