Monitor Other Aspects As Well
Traffic is not the only concern, one should monitor their appearance in the SERP's as well as things do change as more competitors come online. Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools are great places to assist in that effort.

I agree, regualar monitoring of your site should be practiced to regularly. Finding problems with your site before your customers do is an advantage that you cannot afford to pass up. We monitor the state of our company's site weekly so we are always current with the changes that need to be made to ensure that we are always getting the most traffic possible.

I’ve been using Pingdom for at least 3 years already because they provide really good service and also the 1 minute checks from locations all over the world.
