UK Small Business Contest Offers Big Prize Package

The Pitch 2009 improves odds of long-term success

Small businesses owners who are based in the UK may want to set aside some time to participate in an annual contest.  The grand prizewinner is going to come out of The Pitch 2009 with a "business support package" said to be worth £50,000.

Website consultancy services, market research services, a three-month public relations campaign, instruction from Angels Den, and a lot of media attention are more or less up for grabs here.  The only eligibility requirements (other than the one relating to geography) are that companies must be less than three years old and have fewer than 20 employees.

As for the rest of the setup, you’ll need to download an entry pack and complete it by May 18th, May 25th, June 1st, June 15th, or June 22nd, depending on whether you’re based nearest to Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, or London.

Then, a blurb on The Pitch 2009′s homepage explains, "Five winners plus a wildcard entry selected by members of BusinessZone.co.uk will go through to a live grand final in London . . ."

The competition’s worth looking into, at least.  Some videos of former contestants are available if you want a sort of model.  Good luck to any of you who decide to enter.
