Small Business Enterprise Centre is hosting a half-day event in Brampton, Ontario on Monday, March 3, aimed at educating business owners on "using Internet technology to facilitate doing business".
Is it worth attending?
How in-depth this event will get into the eBusiness world, I am not sure, but it only costs $25, so if it turns out to be disappointing, it shouldn’t be a huge loss.
Of course there is the possibility that it will be well worth the price of admission and teach you some things that can really help your business succeed online.
I get the impression that those who are already particularly Internet savvy will not benefit greatly from this. You’ll probably get more out of it if you are a brick and mortar business looking to branch out into the online world. Either way, though, it could be a great opportunity for some networking.
Scheduled session topics include, eBusiness Blueprint, Balancing the Technology-Productivity-Equation, Search Engines and Social Networks, and Interactive Marketing.
It looks like there will only be time to attend 2 out of 4 of these sessions. They appear to run 2 at a time. There is however, a keynote luncheon on "How Emerging Technologies are Changing the Economy", which may prove to be interesting as well.
If you are located anywhere close to the Brampton area, you might as well check it out. Otherwise, you’ll have to make a judgement call. If anyone has any further insight into this event, please share in the comments. If any of you do attend, please let us know how it turns out as well.
