Ways To Increase Your Site’s Organic Traffic

Keeping Your Audience Interested

Many leading web sites are actively engaged in finding new ways to increase their online profile. As OnlineSocialNetworking.com talked about in an article, search rankings aren’t everything but they are incredibly important. But it’s dangerous to only take one approach. As many companies have done in recent years, there’s far too much emphasis placed on a site’s search and keyword rankings. Many are told that this is the only way to have a successful business but it’s not true. It’s true that an SEO Company is integral to online success, you want to also increase your organic traffic and there are a few ways to get you started.

Drafting Unique Daily Content

It’s tough to get people to your site but what’s even more difficult is keeping them once they get there. You can use SEO or other tools to get people to your site but if you’re not providing them with unique content on a regular basis you won’t be seen as an authority or viable online voice. For any user that spends a good amount of time searching the web, it’s obvious when you come across a site that’s thrown together with articles that don’t say much. Creating relevant and relatable material is essential to compete with other leading social media resources that put out massive amounts of material every day. You can also hire freelance writers to create articles for you to supplement your online content.

Content Sharing

When it comes to the Internet, there are many sites and companies that simply have greater resources than you. But one of the best things about the web is that it’s a great leveler of players. If you devise a plan to share content among other small bloggers or businesses, you can create a win-win situation for everyone. Doing things like guest blogging connects you to a whole new network of readers and provides content of the host. The more relevant and compelling the piece, the greater the reward. Using Social Media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn are some of the best ways to build a greater presence.

Link Building

Link building isn’t a topic that everyone is familiar with but it’s terribly important. You don’t want it to be the main approach but not using it could result in bad things. If you’re not sure what this is, link building is the process of creating inbound links to your site. This can be through other sites, directories, newsletters, etc. It’s simply getting people to link to you. It seems a necessary evil and most SEO companies will help you with this.

You can create and work the search rankings but unless you get people to your site, you won’t be able to tell them about your products and services. Increasing your profile is only the first step in the process. Look for ways that keeps you relevant to your audience and keeps them interested.

  1. Excelente página, estupendendos detalles para emprendedores. Felicidades.

  2. how i can obtain godd backlinks ?

  3. Don’t forget branding. That means having a memorable name that owns a significant piece of a siginficant market category or niche.

All successful websites I work with have three things:

    1. A large proportion of searches that look specifically for the business name.

    2. A large number of direct entries.

    3. Related to 1 and 2, a large proportion of repeat or returning visitors.

  4. I am also trying to build my backlinks and in my experience the difficult part is finding the sites since currently I do not use any paid SEO tools. Only when I see promise to backlinking and directory submissions will I consider for a paid SEO tool. But that is just me.

  5. Thank you very much for the information. I’ve been trying to drive traffic to my client’s computer repair site.

  6. In esence SEO is about making your site better. From that point of view it does work and you don’t even have to worry about search engine updates and those kind of things. However it is a long term tactic, think about years not months.

  7. Those are some good points, though I have to agree, backlinks are a MUST  for any website, probably one of the most important feature for gaining some consistent traffic.

My web site http://personalpresenceni.co.uk/ is still in it’s infancy and I enlisted the assistance of an SEO company to help me out.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to have made any difference at the minute.

They are building my links, checking tags, keywords etc. but I have to say that I have not noticed any difference in the 3 or 4 months we have been working together.

I know we are in a competitive market, but I am disappointed that I have not seen any traffic going to my site at all yet.

I do try and work with social networking, but that too is an ongoing process.  I know everybody says that these things take time, but I was hoping for some activity by now!

I’m glad there are articles like this to read though, it’s all useful knowledge to me!

  11. Thanks for informative article. Backlinks are probably one of the most important things you can do to get ranking and traffic to your site. If you do nothing else do backlinking! I automate my backlinking, but you may also try Fiverr.com, you can hire someone to do the backlinks for you for only $5.

  12. I have tried just about everything and am in the process of revamping part of my site with checkout buttions, but apparently sharing and posting links does not work, because I can’t tell if the panda update wiped out all my pages. They are still there, but there is no traffic to count because to date no one has bought something from me. I sell books but the customers would rather shop on Amazon, and Amazon is not selling books either anymore. I have tried to work with one directory which takes weeks to search your URL, but if something is off when they decide to verify they would rather kick you off right away. I worked with Linked In for a while but they did not acknowledge that I had two departments sharing the same parent site, and kicked on off. I add my link to whatever link sharing site there is and all I get back is spam. I am on Facebook but I get no likes or fans. So you tell me what I’m supposed to do, when I have tried everything.

While I am still remodeling I’m going to reduce the number of keywords to just the basics and move on. Link building is not all it’s hyped up to be.

  14. Hey, have you tried signing up with MerchantCircle, it really seems to work for me and they also have a lot of free cool features and free widgets you can use like customer reviews and appointment booking widgets. Also, I sign up for every directly listing there is, manta, local city directories, etc. Craiglist also seems to be great for SEO, try placing a free small business listing, but do it every 48 hours and change it up a bit after a while. It all works but it takes some time.

    Good luck!

  18. Agree with your points above but not sure I would call guest blogging content sharing.  The tactic of content sharing (i.e., distributing content among more than one site) has pretty much been kicked in the nuts by the panda update.

  19. I am hoping that the search engines will continue to put more emphasis on daily updates for higher search engine rankings.  It is frustrating when you see a site with minimal effort ranking higher when it hasn’t been updated for months.

  20.  I try to submit 10 links a day. Takes alot of time.

I have just started with submitting to Online Social Networking.

I do not see how it can hurt your website aslong as you do it in a timely manner like submitting links.

    Great article Thank You,

    Alan
